Kerry Bornman read Law and French Law and lived abroad in Paris and Madrid before coming to the Bar.

She was awarded a Middle Temple Queen Mother Scholarship (1998) and Blackstone's Entrance Exhibition (1998).

Practice

Kerry Bornman's practice covers a broad range of litigation and drafting/advisory work in the Chancery and commercial fields, with a particular emphasis on trusts, inheritance and capital gains tax, wills and probate disputes, administration of estates, Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, professional negligence, company and insolvency (corporate and personal), property (commercial and residential), partnership, and pensions.

She regularly advises and appears for personal representatives, trustees and beneficiaries in relation to disputed estates, trust matters and the construction of wills and in addition advises pensions administrators and trustees. She has been involved in mediation and ADR.

In the commercial field, she has developed a strong practice in the areas of corporate and personal insolvency and has advised on guarantees and financial services disputes.
