Fenner Moeran read Politics and Philosophy at Bristol University, taking the highest first in his year, before reading for his C.P.E. at City University where he graduated with a Distinction.

Fenner Moeran is a contributor to Tolley's Pensions Law.

He lectures regularly on all aspects of pensions, including in particular the pensions aspects of public sector outsourcing.

Practice

Fenner has a broad based chancery / commercial practice with an emphasis on litigation. Whilst he has a particular speciality in pensions he also regularly acts in insolvency, insurance, property and general commercial matters.

Within the pensions field, he acts for trustees, employers, members and professionals in both litigation and advisory work. His work has in recent years ranged from litigation of misselling claims and professional negligence claims against actuaries and solicitors through to advising on occupational pension scheme wind-ups and the pensions aspects of PFI/PPP deals and multi-national mergers.

Fenner also undertakes work in all fields of chancery/commercial litigation and advice, including in particular insolvency, financial services, insurance and real property.

  • Corenso (UK) Ltd -v- The Burnden Group plc (1/7/2003) High Court. Costs on accepting part 36 offers less than 21 days before trial after failure to engage in ADR.
  • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints -v- Price (30/11/2004) High Court. Protection From Harassment Act 1997, Human Rights Act 1998, telephone calls, private nuisance, right to freedom of religion.
  • Chan Sui Ko -v- Appasamy (10/3/2005) High Court. Statutory demands, equitable set-off and forum conveniens arguments.
  • Cornwell -v- Newhaven Port & Properties Ltd (14/4/2005) High Court. Pensions Act 1995 section 75 debts and actuaries certificates.
